AMRT.NET  is dedicated to facilitating adoption of shelter and rescue pets in the Southern California area.  We believe there are a lot of pets euthanized in shelters while there are potential pet owners looking to adopt and cannot find them.   The goal of the creators of this web site is to assist potential pet owners in finding a shelter or rescued pet.

The Orange County Animal Shelter has certainly raised the bar with this wonderful web site.  Orange County residents have much to be proud of.  Open 7 days a week and now this wonderful site to help the dogs and cats find homes.  As our Rescue Team doesn't want to duplicate the efforts of the OC staff, we are providing this link directly to their animal shelter.  Please click here to go to the new

Orange County Animal Shelter web site.

We  have the stray dogs and cats listed and photographed on our web site as well as dogs currently available for adoption.   Owner surrenders and quarantines are not photographed and posted until they become available.  Please recommend our website to people who are looking for their pets or a new pet. The site is updated every 30 minutes.

Did you know that the Orange County Animal Shelter
scans the animals?

Putting a tag or the avid chip on your dog will keep them from ending up here!

Many city shelters do not take pets given up by their owners;
however, county shelters have to take everything.
One third of the dogs in the shelter are reclaimed by their owners.
Less than 3% of cats are reclaimed.
This all contributes to high euthanasia numbers!

All pets must be spayed/neutered before adoption.
Pets described on this web site may not be available when you contact the shelter or rescue.

The comments about the dogs are those of the volunteers who visited with the animal and not the shelters. Adopters should always visit with the animal before adopting to make their own decisions about an animals health and temperament.
